2008 Freelander with wet passenger side (RHD) carpet. Water leaks through the bonnet release catch - any fixes to suggest?

are the water flaps at the base of the windscreen clear of debris and leaves etc ?

lift the bonnet, on either side of the engine bay up against the bulkhead and there are little rubber flaps to allow water to run out off the windscreen and scuttle. they get clogged up with leaves and stuff and may just need cleaning out as the water builds up in there.

the flaps are clear, as are the drain holes

I would trace the cable back from the latch to find where it enters the bulkhead and passes through to the inside, i suspect theres a displaced or perished grommet and water is running along the cable and entering the car at this point?

got a problem with my fl2 2011 water leaks what can only look like from the bonnet release handle down and literally floods the pass footwell so much that the overmats float.

As said further up make sure the drain holes in the plastic near the windscreen and the flaps near the bonnet struts are clear.
