Just spray it with some Isopropyl alcohol and just spray. Most paints are self priming.
You'll probably damage the surface by sanding end up with an inferior finish. MY15

just spoken to my local LR dealer regarding history on my potential (probable) new FL2

Confirmed the full LR service history, some minor warranty work over the years but interesting the rear diff was replaced under warranty in Sept 2011 when it was only 18 months old and around 30k miles..............

she drives like a dream, auto box really suits it and lovely and smooth. A lot quieter on the road than either of my 2 previous manual FL2 or though that could be tyre choice as this one has 4 new Pirelli Scorpion Zero fitted.

There's nothing like getting back into a Land Rover.

the new facelift insignia is actually a really nice car and in Sri vx-line spec like I had looked really good IMO And with 200bhp/320 lb ft torque after remapping is seriously quick (prob around 8 sec 0-60 and 140 top end)but still capable of nearly 60mpg

just decided it wasn't what I really wanted. However I did always want a high spec FL2 with auto and this one is fully loaded. Previous owner even left 5 cd's in the changer of which 4 I'm happy to keep

haha not completely.

black side vents and repeaters, and get rid of the horrible chrome mirror caps to colour code (need it to stop raining so I can heat them up with a hair dryer to soften the glue)

going to contact Equicar scrappers as they appear to have a black facelift boot and I want the handle. then when I have the money ill be going for facelift front end and I may put in the LED/DRL fog lights upgrade from Advanced.

wheels will be staying as they are as I don't want to appear to be a drug dealer

So the mods have already started

Debadged the tailgate so it now has black/silver land rover badge and genuine chrome HSE BLACK badge.
All land rover badges on the outside are now black/silver gel overlays.
Chrome mirror caps are now gloss black having bought some combined primer/paint spray from B&Q for £12. Results are pretty good although could be better with more practice.

I'll do the vents when I get a chance.
