The irony is, if you had a lighter car, you could tow a heavier caravan yet still be within 3,500 kg. Only thing is, you would not have such a safe combination as you get with a 4x4! Don't go there!

That you were looking at is a old a.b.I caravan its the same model as the one I am repairing for my daughter its weigh's in at 1000g fully loaded and is a four berth can't remember the name of it right now but they were aa entry level caravan back in the 1980's so most likely will have a fridge that works on gas and 12 v supply that only works when pluged nto the tow car 12s socket , hopefully

If you do buy a second hand van, the only way to stop damp is when it is in winter store (and summer if possible) is to have a low wattage electric thermostatically controlled convector heater on to stop condensation.

I run a dehumidifier in my van on low for an hour a day on a timer, Never had a damp problem. I do have to empty the water container every few weeks. I have had a van for 40 years or so. |

Good try George, but the damp defeats them. Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own! |

Perhaps a day visit to someone who is holidaying in a modern caravan might help convince her . . . ? Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own! |
