I changed my fuel filter today.
Couldn't have been easier, I filled the new filter with clean diesel first with a syringe, then submerged it in a container of fuel to make sure it was as full as possible.
Removed the old one, fitted the new one and fired it up without any problems at all.
Something which has caused me concern over its replacement, really didn't pose any problem whatsoever.

I think ive read that if you also clamp the hoses first at the filter it stops fuel draining back and air getting into the system and this helps easier restarting after a filter change too?

Did nothing with the hoses other than remove from the old one and pushed them straight on the new one.
Started instantly at the push of the button.

If it works, don't knock it. Now at the point when I learn something new something old is lost out the other side !
Now retired so it doesn't matter anymore.
Freelander now gone.
