Good upgrade and well worth doing for that money. Thinking of doing that myself but where do you plug the sat nav cable into when it goes through the back of the cubby box |

Forgot to mention the Garmin Satnav I said for £89 I took back and changed and bought model 2589LM at £129.99 as this has Bluetooth so it does all the phone calls hands free as well as traffic updates again from Argos.

I got a plastic clip board and cut it up to make a cover to make the satnav look more factory and only cost something like £2, well worth it in the end

i did this with a Garmin as well, drilled hole through the bottom of the cubby box (so the mat would cover it later) and ran an extra long USB power cable behind the centre console trim to the aux power socket next the gear lever. Then plugged into a twin usb convertor and hey presto, an ignition switched sat nav.

Yeah its Bob lol the wife wanted it in there
Think I picked it up from the Range, its not a totally stiff one but has alittle flex ( also don't buy a chunky one as the thinner the better, made a template and then cut it to size, when you remove the cubby box there are two lugs on it which if you drill holes in the cover then it sits rock solid Will take a picture this evening of the clip board as think its still kicking around Freelander 57 plate XS Blue Auto |

This sounds like an excellent cheap mod, I was thinking of how to get Bluetooth phone connectivity & have an unused Garmin sat nav with Bluetooth I was going to drop into charity shop , looks like I will trying this tomorrow, any pics would be great, especially the ckio board surround ... Cheers |
