I see the York LR Dealer has been taken out by Inchcape. Does this set a pattern with the big boys closing out the old dealers I wonder. York dealer was keen on doing a deal I found. |

I hope it isn't Armstrong Massey. They are the only Land Rover main dealer I would recommend to a friend. |

It's been a general trend for the last 20 years that car dealerships are getting bigger and more spread out. My nearest LR dealer is 37 miles away in Yeovil, Not so much a problem when retired as I can make a day of it but if I was working I don't know how I would manage. It's a pity that LR don't allow approved independents that could do local warranty/servicing work. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

It is a shame the single franchise and family owned dealers are being taken over. Stratstone has the monopoly in South Wales owning sites in Newport,Cardiff & Swansea

I was told in a main dealer recently that JLR policy is to consolidate dealerships so that both the LR and Jaguar Dealerships in a location are run by the same company.

Yes T. H. White here in Wootton Bassett has been taken over by Grange Jaguar and the showroom is rumoured to being relocated next to their Jag dealer in Swindon, pity it's walking distance for me. THW started as agricultural engineers many years ago (still are) but that is seen as not fitting the JLR image any more. MY14 TD4 manual XS Orkney grey.

Bought my latest car from Listers of Droitwich. Really fancy Jag/LR dealership. Talking to the salesman he told me that they employ over 100 people at the site. That's a lot of mouths to feed. MY 09 GS manual in Lago Grey, Wood Co arm rest and side bumper strips - now sold.

I was told by one of the employees that they just spent £3m on the refurbishment. It is a nice showroom! |

Bought mine from Listers a while ago. It was Droitwich Landrover when I ordered it but Listers when I picked it up. Still good service though. 12MY 61plate FL2 TD4 auto GS Orkney Grey Roof spoiler full size spare
