Would have to check the wiring diagrams, but i'm pretty sure you won't get any sound our of the front center or d-pillar speakers without the right amp fitted.

At least that's how it is on the earlier cars...

And from what Stuart has said, on the Meridian systems the amp alone is not enough, you need to change the head unit as well, in addition to editing the CCF to activate it all... 2008 Freelander 2 HSE Si6 Black/Black - Hers

Having read through my earlier posts I mentioned an upgrade to a more powerful amplifier but he dismissed it,I take it he has since changed his mind,thank you for your post.

It's logical to assume that the head and amplifier modules would need to be changed to get the 3 remaining speakers to work as the operation of these is linked into the special program's feature of the Meridian unit.
I originally stumbled onto the premise that all that would be needed was the extra speakers as I was looking at an adjacent system and preliminary schematics led me to believe this and hence my investigation. you know the rest!
Try the speakers and see! I'm curious! Nothing to loose, wiring is Definately already there  MY15

I've had a bit more time to understand the technology and even more so the inadequacy of LR's Micro-cat.
To this end I have purchased the amp and will be following through with this change from "Highline" to "Premium".
Microcat shows head and screen units separate but I'm thinking this is now for Gen 1 touchscreen system. Gen 2 & 2.1, Meridian is all one unit. To this end I will update when I'm more confident of my facts. MY15

Premium Amplifier purchased and on its way - Santa's going to be busy at my place this year with bits coming from everywhere.





As my FL2 is a MY15 the correct unit is a "BG" evolution but very unlikely to find one from a Range Rover, Land Rover or Jaguar so this "BF" is superseded by the "BG" and is suitable. Once it's connected if there's a software update the ECU can be flashed to latest files. All good. MY15

Premium amplifier is on it's way, thank you Taz and should be here next week.



Only other hardware difference between Highline and Premium is the 2 rear D-Pilar surround speakers and the dash central speaker which I've also ordered and should also be here next week. No other hardware differences between Highline/Premium otherwise.

In the meantime I'm about to order my OBDP interface which I've decided on a DA-Dongle from a reputable supplier in the UK. Not taking any chances with this side of things as you don't want any problems whilst editing ECU's/CCF.

To this end I've also ordered and waiting on a power supply to augment the battery as you don't want any voltage drop whilst editing CCF. Even more so with later models like mine with the "power management module" which will shut everything down when it detects voltage dropping below certain threshold.



This 40amp units, I've been advised is more than sufficient for long periods of battery power augmentation.
So just waiting now for Santa to delivery all this stuff!
And I'm working my local street corner at night to pay for it all!  MY15

Well Santa has arrived early this morning and delivered this! A big thank you must go out to Taz for helping get this here to Australia, thank you Taz and it's great to see that we can help each other out, very humbling!
I now have to find the vacuum cleaner to try a get all this packing "confetti" 😱😱😱😱😱😱, bloody everywhere!




To make this an even better situation the AMP turns out to be the latest model fitted to MY15 Freelanders - Whoohoo!!!!
LR045327 was fitted to MY13/14 and is superseded by LR059385 which is the AMP in my hot little hands -
