changing stock wheels to gloss black

Hi Guys

I'm on the quest for better wheels, again.

I now have the 19" diamond wheels in the usual spec, I want them to be glossy black like I have seen on eBay.

Question, how do I change these to black?

do I either:
1) get the sprayed
2) plasti dip them
3) powder coat them
4) anodise

I'm looking for GLOSS black (not matte) and I would like them to withstand sand-driving, and basically the usual chips that wheels would last under.

I guess my question is, how did these ones in the pic get to being black. I assume they are factory done, is it paint or another method?

btw,, just found a better pic..

The diamond turned ones look quite expensive and smart, blacking them entirely would turn them into the ordinary cheaper wheel look wouldnt it?
Unless maybe you have them blacked but retain the diamond turned section still?

I used to love the diamond turned ones, but I miss my black wheels more.

The standard colour scheme is just a bit too standard for me, and yes keeping the silver but with black could look good but I assume it would be impossible? 2011 black FL2

Gents don't forget that JLR made two types of wheels in this style. They could well be either wheel finished in gloss black.

Surely you can simply get them re-furbished in gloss black down there. Easy process. Just get them dipped, cleaned and painted gloss black. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

There is a coating you can apply to them like a plastidip which is peelable so you can revert back to the original if you want to.
Some people coat their wheels with it in the winter as a protection coat more than anything?

Plostidip is crap for wheels. It doesn't last 5 minutes. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........
