Greatest event in your lifetime

With the potential finding of Nefertiti's tomb it got me thinking, would this be the greatest event I would witness in my life time if it is found to be true? I am too young to have witnessed the first moon landing. I have witnessed the probe landings on Mars, the landing of a probe on a comet and when Voyager reached the extents of our solar system, which all rate quite highly to me.

Just wondered what others would say was the greatest event witnessed in their lifetime? What would yours be?

watching pinkies magnetic car scratch panels fall off,

not the greatest of course but still good.

personal best was wheeling my new-born son down the hospital corridor in his little trolley, 36 mths after Drs told us that that it would be impossible for us to have a child. Thumbs Up

sticking to your topic it has to be the fall of the Berlin wall At work

Of course discounting my marriage, the birth of two kids and the purchase of my Freelander (I know thats all painfully sick) I am not sure.

If we are talking world events I'm not sure. On a personal level sport and music have always ranked high with me so the 10 years of punk concert at GMEX (Manchester) back in '86 where The Smiths and New Order were on the same bill ranks high in my memories as does seeing Queen (and getting a back stage pass although I never met them)

And of course does May 6th 1972 when we won the FA Cup (I was very young but was there)

Two years after man had just walked on the moon, we moved out of a slum in 1971 and into a brand new council house. I was 14 and for the first time ever we had an inside toilet AND I had my first bath all to myself instead of being fourth in line on a Sunday night in front of the fire, in the living room, in a tin bath, with water heated up in a big cauldron on a gas stove that we shared with our next door neighbours, was a pretty good time for me. At the time I just could not get my head around the fact that lovely, steaming, hot water could come out of a tap just by switching it on. And we had proper central hearing instead of just a coal fire. We thought we'd won the pools. Happy days indeed. You just wouldn't understand how much that meant to us. My mum cried. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

been given the news that my son, who was born six weeks early was going to be OK is one of the biggest events in my life

Then the all clear given to my brother after thyroid cancer in his 20's

The news my mothers fight against a serious infection in the ankle which nearly killed her had been won and the later brain op had been successful and she was going to be fit and back home

This type of stuff stand out as my events, people knocking down walls in Berlin, racing across the oceans in Virgin Atlantic Boats or Baloons are memories but not events that stand out in my life Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
