I get indicated 40-45 mpg per full tank. Reality is 3-5mpg less than that.

Hi, can someone tell me why I have suddenly dropped in MPG. I was getting 30/31 and since I've got this back from the garage (they only did a MOT and put on new tyres) I'm getting low 26mpg. This is a major drop so is there anything I can do to test why or to improve this figure?

Are the new tyres the same size/pattern/grip level as the previous ones? How worn were the old ones. I assume the tyres are at the correct pressure as well - that can make quite a difference. Also over how many miles has the new figure been calculated compared to the old figure? FL No 1 - 2012 (MY2011) XS manual Firenze Red - Gone

Hi, just to give an update with regards to my MPG readings. It was in the low 26s which included urban and rural measurements. After returning back from Wales our measurement was 32.8 which I feel is on the lower side (this reading was achieved within the second half of the tank)

I dont think it will be very accurate using half a tank of fuel, you need to get it as empty as possible then fill it up (or half fill it I suppose) but take note at the pump of exactly how many litres you've put in.

I took it that way for our Australian friends I had brimmed the tank at a BP station near York, then drove the A64/A1 to home. On arrival I had managed average 39.6mph over 76 miles, and still had 525 miles left on the range. |

I've managed 52mpg twice now on the same 17 mile trip, mainly 50mph with average speed cameras on cruise control. Stop start town driving for the 1st and last mile. Still don't get above 35mpg at/around the national speed limit though, price you pay for it being shaped like a couple of bricks

Sent the wife out to work yesterday. The MY13 did 43 mpg on a return trip between Leeds and Lutterworth all motorway and most well under 70 mph I bet due to average speed cameras. |
