The brake hydraulics are conventional & do not need any reset by the dealer. I presume the fault is there with engine on or off. If you have no leaks and are not losing fluid, your symptoms appear to indicate the piston seals in the brake master cylinder have failed. Not a common fault on the forum though.

I have changed several FL2 sets of front and rear pads and I don't usually bother to bleed the excess fluid off through the bleed nipple. I know that a lot of people push the pistons back quickly with a g clamp but I tend to do it by hand pressure alone and I have never had a problem. Any excess fluid I take out of the reservoir with a hypodermic. Did you undo the bleed nipples and perhaps get air in? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

It is possible with dual circuit braking systems if youre a bit too fierce on the pedal when bleeding or pushing back a piston say to decentralise the shuttle between the two systems and this upsets the braking balance? |

I have never bled the brakes after a pad change, I just use a big pair of grips wit ehe cap off on the resevoir, keeping an eye on the level so it doesnt overflow.. I think if you dont need to break into a system then dont, same goes for the fuel system etc.. I''ve never had a problem with a master cylinder..

Always hate it when a question doesn't have a conclusion, so just to conclude, I took the FR 2 for a drive and fully tested the brakes and they was no problem all work fine, but it still creeps when sat on drive pushing the peddle down, which it probably always did. |

My RRS did exactly the same. I took it into the dealers and the chief mechanic tested it out. Apparently this is quite normal for a servo assisted brake system, and as long as when you turn the engine off it is rock solid it's all good. |

It's quite common on cars with ABS. Happens quite often during MOT tests. Quite normal. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

Yep, same on my MY13. Never had any brake related work done to the car and can push the pedal to the floor at traffic lights.
