Sorry to hear about your car. Years ago my Astra broke down and caught fire. Atleast no one was injured. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

yes at the end of the day it's just a car. My wife was driving it when it started, it could have been so much worse. |

Yes I did see it. Mine was a mid 2009 build. I think the references are to a small number back in 2008? |

Yes, 2009 cars may have been built in 2008. May just provide a clue as to what happened, main thing is that you are all safe.

That's terrible, glad you are all safe though. Looks like the fire really took hold before the fire brigade could get to you. Hopefully your insurance will cover the loss? 2013 SD4 Auto HSE Luxury Firenze Red

Fortunately the car was outside at the time, can you imagine if it was in an integral garage within the house how things would have ended? No house either. |

Would have been little hope saving the house from a blaze like that, if the car had been inside. Has it damaged the driveway? 2013 SD4 Auto HSE Luxury Firenze Red

Yup that would have been really bad. The engine was sitting on the sub frame, the gearbox actually melted and set into the tarmac. The recovery truck snapped a cable before he could get it onto the truck.
