Door unlocking question

Picked up my latest FL2 on Monday (my 3rd). Not had this before with the previous ones, but it's probably a new 'feature'. So once the car is parked, front passenger door doesn't open until I open my door or push the central locking switch. Bugging the crap out of my wife. Is there some menu setting to disable this? MY14 HSE.

Cheers in advance

Thanks - what I meant was (and should have said) this is from inside, coming to a stop after driving. So car stops, engine off, passenger door won't open.

Mine just won't unlock - with or without the 2 stage unlock checked on the menu. It's just like there's a child proof lock on somewhere that needs to be over-ridden. Very odd.

Great to be back in an FL2 though.

If it's coming to a stop after driving, it's because the doors have auto locked once you started moving. Press the unlock button on the dash before she tries getting in. I still forget after over a year, it still annoys her! Smile

My uncle from Australia said that if his wife wasn't in the car when he drove off, she got left behind! Apparently that's the way they look at life over there?

Smile

Thing is she can't get out even when I switch the engine off.

Dont know if it works on the FL2 but on the MINI if you pull on the interior handle twice it unlocks if you dont stop the engine, maybe i should give it a go, i dont carry passengers all that often, maybe thats another solution Very Happy

Ever heard the acronym "RTFM"?

It stands for "Read The Censored Manual". Twisted Evil

If you press the unlock and the lock buttons on your remote, at the same time, for three seconds it changes the unlock to "open all doors". Rolling Eyes

That's not the issue. And the solution isn't in the manual either.

Driving along with doors auto-locked. Come to a stop, switch engine off. Passenger door cannot be unlocked from the inside by the passenger by pulling the handle. Only the driver's door can, even if two stage unlocking isn't switched on. It behaves as if there some kind of child lock in operation. It's a pain in the arse to keep pushing the central locking button every time the passenger wants to get out.

I had the same problem on my front passenger door it was caused by a faulty locking unit. The motors were ok but the lever on the latch would not activate the door latch from inside when pulled could of been caused by a faulty micro switch.
I stripped down the old part and used the motors to fix a failed rear door latch.

Whistle isn't yours still under warranty get the dealer to replace the latch. Thumbs Up
