I have a TD4 auto and get 33-34mpg average which is 5 miles town driving in queues and 75 miles on the motorway.

I average about 130 miles a week to and from work, mainly city driving with a short sprint on a dual carriageway. For this I allocate £100 per month for fuel but normaly works out to be about £85.

Get ~32mpg with constant round town driving, but not many miles a week so fill up (from 1/4 full) 50litres once a month.

Yes, some companies offer that but only if you were named driver on one of their policies. Typically, not the one I was named driver on |

When we only had the one car my wife and I used to take turns being the insured whilst the other was the additional driver - we swapped every two years. One year we slipped up and thought we were in year two but were in year three. My eighteen years of unblemished history was gone in a flash! I am now back at the start with only one years NCB |

Phil, A few companies will honour a NCD up to three years after it was used. Norwich Union is one of them. Also there is a broker called A Quote who got my wife a good NCD of her own even though she had only ever been a named driver. That was through Zurich, even though we had never used them before. |

Can't add much to the MPG figures as mine is coming in between 36-39 depending on foot pressure. What I can say though is that after 5199 miles this is quite simply the best car I've ever had and that includes a number of Audi's and BMW's.

I called Norwich Union, no, no they said. I ended up with Direct Line who provided a NCD bonus of 1 year as new policy, which isn't bad as usually the first bonus is a big 30%. Phil |
