Perhaps you mean Rica Tuning (http://www.rica.nl/), also in the UK (http://www.rica-uk.com). |

Hi Jules1967, I have just renewed my policy and i asked how much it would be should I have my Freelander 2 remapped, ( I had a TD5 remapped as I have heard they are more reliable than an add on box) they asked me why I wanted to do this, was it for speed related reasons? When I said that it was for towing I wanted more torque and I was looking at an increase of around 40 bhp and they said it would be noted on my insurance but there would be no increase in premium I still don't know if I will get it done though I will wait and see what I hear on the forum. p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior |

I made a chip tuning to my FL2 TD4 and instead of 150 hp now 235 hp and 490 nm There is an opportunity to do even more, but our gearbox according to the documents is up to 500nm and therefore I don't want to load it too much. After tuning, the car just flew. The consumption in normal driving mode has not changed. On the highway, the record is 5.6 liters per 100 km , in urban mode from 9 to 11. |

Having experienced both add-on boxes and proper remaps I agree a remap produces a much better result. Most cheap add-on boxes just over fuel the injectors making for a smokey engine under acceleration which is not good. A remap adjust many more parameters inc turbo boost and can incorporate safety features to prevent gearbox and engine damage. Jules |

JLR quotes maximum torque figures for manual and auto gearboxes as 380nm and 450nm, respectively. Thats why the SD4 only comes with an auto as it exceeds the limit for manual boxes.

If you want to turn your TD4 into SD4 190 hp 420Nm or even super SD4 215 HP 440Nm or 235HP 490Nm or 250Hp 520Nm ))) , then I can help with this. |
