United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

I don't see an issue with private plates. They for sure don't have the stigma that they used to have maybe 20 years ago.

All three of my cars have private plates, which have the same number on all three cars. The Landy actually has my wife name on which is good, my company car has the same number and my name.

Then on my Astra it has my daughters plate on which again, is the same number but with her initials. She is only 13 so a few years until it goes on her own car lol.

I look at it like this. It doesn't really hide the age anymore, because those who know about cars, also know how old the car is, and those who don't know about cars, don't really care!

But I do agree, a lot of Freelander 2's have private plates. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

A private plate was a much cheaper option than upgrading to a Disovery Sport.
Seen in both trims, clean for holiday and after a nice drive through forrests.

I wanted to get this one for our new car, sorry, mobile dog kennel, but my wife won't have any of it. (We've got a dog called Susie)

And if anyone spots LEW 1S going for a couple of hundred pounds feel free to give me a shout Laughing

The best I had was S40 LEW, bought for me directly from DVLA. That has now gone though.

I did have E7PTC on my FL2 as it was the initials of my company and we were based in London E7 but we moved so I let it go with the car when I sold it. An E7 number plate in any other 'E' postcode area is a likely target for vandalism round these parts with these silly postcode wars going on. Past: FL2 TD4 HSE Auto

But how many of you deliberately change the lettering (MOT failure and potential fine).

There is a Range Rover around with GUM 800T which I thought quite amusing.

The really sad ones are where the owner has tried to make it look like a word or a name but cannot in the first instance spell that word correctly.

And yes, my registration is worth far more than my Land Rover . . . ! Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own!
