Blowing headlamp bulbs

I have had two headlamp bulbs go over the last couple of months - one each side - both dipped. Replaced with halfrauds bulbs, now after a few weeks one has gone again. Coincidence? or should I be looking for a bad earth somewhere? Any suggestions? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

Yes check the earth to the bulb and the fit of the wiring plug is tight on the bulb.
If everything looks ok check the alternator output it isnt putting out too much current, they can if they are starting to fail?

I always clean new bulbs prior to fitting with methylated spirit as you can't guarantee that person packing the bulbs haven't touched the glass. Whistle

I have had quite a few Halfords HB3 headlight bulbs go over the past 12 months, some only lasting a week or so. It often appears that one side goes, you replace it and a day or so later the other side goes.
I currently still have Halfords in use but have a pair of Osrams in the glove box ready and waiting
I have stopped using the "auto" headlamp feature as well which may not be based on science, but seems to help
