rear spoiler mounting brackets

Just bought a rear spoiler off a forum member, but without mounting brackets.
Ordered some off Dan at Duckworth's,and they arrived today.
My question is:The spoiler has two fixing points at both ends, but the plastic brackets are very small with only one screw hole.Is this correct? If this is so,which screw holes are best to use,top or bottom?

Sounds like something is amiss somewhere, my spoiler brackets have two holes?

Old bracket, the new one is plastic and may only have one fixing

I think that I have the new plastic ones, but are the small brackets sufficient? I understand that the adhesive should be enough to hold the spoiler in place.
I did expect the original ones with two holes.Maybe they aren't available anymore.
Can anyone enlighten me?

I would suggest the brackets are wrong
they are only there to hold it should the adhesive fail
and it won't
once stuck it will stay there good a proper.

3m double sided tape holds car skirts, sills etc on many many vehicles.

can you post a pic of the bracket you received?
as I had a new spoiler for my old XS from main dealer and the brackets were the same a Taz's picture.

Does your spoiler have one or two threaded holes?

I removed my spoiler from the car and the later vehicles have only one bolt holding them on and not two like the older vehicles

My spoiler has two threaded holes, that's why I was surprised to receive a pair of black plastic mounting brackets with just one hole and one screw per side.I think that I need to get in touch with Dan at Duckworth's and try to get the correct ones.

Spoke to Dan today, and apparently, the plastic brackets are all that are supplied separately. The metal brackets were only suppled with the original rear spoiler so cannot be bought.
It seems to me that ,either I stick with two and hope that they will suffice,or buy another two more to be sure.
What a carry-on!

Maybe I'm being over-cautious, but I've ordered an extra pair of the plastic brackets. When I bought the spoiler, there were a couple of scratches and marks that I'm having put right before fitting,so I don't want to take any chances.

Rear spoiler fitted,finally.

Very happy with the end result, but the sourcing of mounting brackets was a pain.
As you can see in the photo,I ended up using the latest plastic brackets, but doubled-up.Apparently,the original brackets only come with the spoiler,so unobtainable separately.
