United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Santorini Black

This:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/ulk/itm/391000580597

is what I used. Wired straight into the fuse box. Then just a usb cable (via an extension so a laptop can be plugged-in to do updates..) into the TomTom.

I agree with Le Bouch a step down usb lead works a treat . I no longer have the TT due to a mishap with screen , now have a tablet installed with TT APP. I have a step down USB lead installed with 2 female connections . gives an additional connection for charging a phone.

Well I was going for fitting a USB and extension power ports in the glove to give me a few extra power slots if I need them without messing about again.

So a single power socket and oen of those multipoints if I have to charge ipod etc.

Ok I found your tablet

But how did you connect audio to your system?

Ok I have fitted my Tom Tom in now. This such a good forum ,loads of great ideas and help.
I had fitted it with out a switch, it turned itself off and the the only way I could turn it on was to take the dash apart to get to the switch. You can see the in the picture I have fitted a small home made switch. Very useful.
My sat nav was too small for the opening so I made a carbon fibre surround. Sat nav is

stuck to the surond with DST foamed back (and front?) also used hot glue for added strength.
OK the surround is not up LR standered but i have made it from scratch. The white on the edges is fluff from where I polished it. It's gone now.
Thanks to everyone involved in this post.

Well the day looms (Friday), but I cannot get tomtom software to allow me to change the logo, it seems they have removed the facility to add your "own" maps and this stops you adding your own images etc.

It seems to be a common problem now to avoid piracy of the maps.

I really wanted to add the LR logo for that little touch of belonging.

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here. Job done it 45 mins and all working fine.

Hot glue really makes the process simple.

Just Censored off about the logo block from TomTom, but thats a little aside really.

THANK YOU ALL Bow down

I took the unit into the house and hot glued all around ensuring it was level. As its not visible it did not matter how much I used.

I took a fly fuse from the fuse F5 I think and then connected this to a power socket (see above for the bits).

It come son with the power and goes off when engine is turned off.

Make sure you remove the top cover correctly so as not to damage the dash, I used a spludger tool for phone repairs.

You need hex drivers as well

Make sure you pop it in the correct way so you can reset if you need and a usb lead to update.

I used Hot Melt glue when I fitted a Garmin unit, fine until the first hot day we had, when it fell back into the cubby hole when I pressed the screen.

A couple of blobs of car body filler has worked fine since.
