Disc condition

Was looking at my tyres this afternoon, as you do, and thought I'd take a look at my discs.

I don't know how to tell if they need replaced but I noticed that on my fronts, the rim is all rusted and flakes if you touch it. I don't know if this is normal.

I don't know how old the discs are but the car is a late 2010.

Photo of one of the rears too. No corrosion on the outer rim.

as long as there is no substantial lip on the edge of the discs, and the faces are not unduly scored or pitted then those look ok to me mate,

Im no mechanic though so if your unsure just drop into a couple of garages for a free brake check (kwik fit or similar, just don't necessarily take the word of one though)

Ta. It is due an MOT and service in the next couple of months and don't want it to fail on something like that Smile FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Scotland 2009 Freelander 2 TD4_e HSE Manual Lago Grey

The discs look fine, that type of corrosion is normal and shouldn't affect the MOT
