I've just had a dead Fob. After mucking about a while before splitting the case I noticed when squeezing it together it worked. I got a 6 inch adjustable spanner and with the bottom of the handle (pushing down on the jaw)I pushed down quite hard just above the hazard button between but just under the lights on and boot release buttons. A week on and its but working a dream. |

It wasn't working at all so there was nothing to loose. Still working perfect. |

Problem with the fob is the case itself, the inner bit of kit is usually fine. underneath the raised button on the fob is a small lug that makes contact with the switch. Over time this little lug wears away, then the raised button cannot make contact with the switch. As an emergency you can stick a large needle or awl through to make the contact. That little bit of rubber is a money spinner for L/R. If you can get the case apart then you can stick something onto the contact to mimic the worn lug, then reassemble. OK to do and use as the spare. Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables. |

Had my MY08 Hst for a week now. When I picked it up the fob was working fine but since having it I've done mainly short trips and now the fob is playing up. Sometimes works , sometimes doesn't. I find if I put it right up to the windows it will work but not always.

No idea why this happens all the functions of the key fob work, but it will not start the car, pushing it in fails as in it will eject.

I had that and I think it was a dead/dying battery. |

What should happen if you drive away having put luggage in car and left key behind 100 miles away on late model with non-docking "Smart!?" key?
