I've driven the LR2 a number of times in sand and it performed brilliantly. So long as you drop the tyre pressures, use sand mode WITH ESP OFF, and read the sand - remember, momentum is key, then the LR2 is pretty capable. |

never noticed it to be a problem with the exhaust, not had any mud of any scrape marks where it has made contact, thought my towbar did come into contact quite abit

When I did my LR Experience, the modification they made to protect the exhaust was to fit a towbar. They said that they did it to all Freelanders, as the towbar takes a lot of abuse, and saves the exhaust. It's not guaranteed, but will stop a lot.

it is a standard LR bar, I presume it will be different to the Austrailian bar

Respectable FL2 owners already have removable tow-bars, so CG's new venture will soon go conk 2007 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Manual with Premium Pack & Moonroof.

The FL2 is great in sand, just turn off DSC in the really soft sand because it like to kill the engine because the wheels are slipping too much. 2007 TD4 SE |
