My dads elderly cat that I now refer to as 'Defender' due to its propensity to drop fluids all over the place, has necessitated the rental of a Rug Doctor.

The Rug Doctor came with attachments for cleaning chairs, so I tried it out in the car. Its done a great job on the seats which over the last seven years have gained a whole load of stains. Naturally it didn't occur to me to take a before and after shot until the cleaning was done.

The initial application of cleaning fluid came with some trepidation, I didn't want to saturate the seats. The delivery of fluid is quite low which allows you to keep going over the seats until the fluid being sucked up runs clear. It certainly gives the impression that only the fabric is getting wet and the foam beneath escapes a dousing.

The seats are heated half leather and a slightly damp to the touch, I expect them to be dry by the morning.

Interesting. I've always wondered how to clean fabric car seats without getting the foam soaked underneath. Mine aren't heated so would be harder to dry.

I have a Vax shampooer but found it made sofa cushions quite wet and the suction didn't get it out of the foam so wouldn't use it on the car. FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Now greatly regret selling the Outlander. MPG of the FL2 is atrocious and so are the fuel bills. Fun though 😎
