Hi, just changed the air filter and thought I would take a look at the earth strap while I was at it. Do I need to be concerned, if so has anyone got a picture of their additional strap fitted as I have never done anything like that before? Thanks in advance.

You can fit an extra earth strap from the engine/gearbox to the body at any point, under the car even.

Going to attempt to fit the extra earth strap tomorrow.

It's dark, and I'm warm and comfy sitting here on my iPad - so perhaps someone can answer some questions for me so I don't have to go out and look under the bonnet.......

Planning on fitting it from the negative terminal of the battery to the starter motor/bell housing. Is that right?

Will this 60cm cable reach?

What fitments do I need to connect to the battery/starter motor? Is there a particular size nut/washer I should buy - or am I just using whatever is already there?

Ordered one today for delivery this week, 31" with 8mm one end and 10mm the other which will get connected to the starter motor.
I am not experiencing any issues but the original connection is starting to look a bit rusty and it only cost £7.85.

Hi All,
Need advice on how to remove the starter motor bolt as it is exceedingly tight! Tried lots of penetrating fluid, extension bar but will not budge, any ideas? It is too tight to get any heat in there without stripping out tubes and cabling.
Advice appreciated

Yes thought about that, but don't have one! I think this is something I need to invest in as I can see that it will come in handy in the future. Presumably they work off compressed air? I have a small compressor but it may not be big enough for the job, any advice on what to get is welcome.

Edit: I see JCB do a cordless 20V Impact driver, would this be any good for working on the car?

If starter bolt wont loosen leave well alone and use another fix point.

auto express did a cordless impact driver test recently, basically you get what you spend, try and get a L-ion battery one
