Thanks CG, I think you are right, leave well alone. I am going to clean the existing earth connection, coat with rust preventer and keep an eye on it. I am not getting any issues but want to try and prevent some from happening.

You can buy a lower current rating one but I think you need the 170A as a minimum. When you click buy you have an option to tell them the length and eyelet size. Good service from them.
