Obviously the fuel filter could cause the problem, did it look clogged?

The fuel filter is sealed unit I think. Just changed the whole thing.

There is a lot of rubbish fuel out there I am afraid - my 1-year old diesel BMW has been off the road for over a month due to fuel contamination and is still not fixed. FL2 HSE Auto Galway Green

I'm sure there are also some counterfeit fuel filters out there as well. I fitted one from a local parts agent and it clogged after about 1000 miles. When I changed it, the fuel that came out of it was really thick with what looked like disintegrated paper. I always use filters from Dan now and never had another problem. I change it every 15000 with an oil and oil filter change every 7500. |
