I don't suppose there's any chance you could put together a click by click idiots guide on how to do that?

With pictures would be even better, I've got a copy of SDD and the cable but I'm a bit scared of experimenting with it in case I click something wrong and leave the car in an unusable state.

Finding and changing the setting will be different for each tool. Never used SDD myself but if you can access CCF with it then there should be a setting for Memory Seats, send me a screenshot from your SDD and I'll let you know which one it is. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Thanks for the offer Jim but I'm out of the country for a while with no access to the car or SDD.

I'm still getting up to speed on all these CCF's and SSD's lingo but there seems to be a vast difference between earlier Freelander 2's and later. On my MY15 this is all available through the "drivers setup menu". But I would like to know more about CCF and how to access and with what if anyone would like to point me in the right direction with links on here or let me know😊

I've obviously jumped into the middle of this as I don't get the CCF and SSD jargon , however these are the driver setup screens on my 64 plate non-HSE variant and the reverse dip option is missing.

Yes I did scroll to the bottom and no I don't have memory seats.
I understand that memory mirrors go with memory seats ( which I had on my HSE ) but reverse dip shouldn't need any more hardware, so it ought to be enablable in the configuration.
I was hoping this would be fairly straightforward and not require special/expensive tools .......

Won't show up on your driver configuration screen if you don't have memory seat function.
But may be possible to activate by going into CCF with a diagnostic tool or trip to dealer. MY15

Jim Ni just discovered that with his GAP diagnostic tool you can set the Auto Dip In Reverse without Memory Seats so maybe he could offer a bit more advice  MY15

No problem Phil - we're here to help each other out. You need a diagnostics tool with ability to edit Car Configuration File (CCF) List of suitable tools include Gap IID, Nanocom, SDD and Autologic you can then access the CCF to make change.
