That's not oversized. That's standard size for a FL2 rear plate. Look at the pictures of any car for sale on the used approved Landrover site. 'Normal' rear plates would be described as undersized!

FWIW I paid a little more for my plates from a main dealer as personally I think it looks better with the main dealer name/logo on them instead of having Mickey Mouse's discount car accessory shop Ltd printed on them!

My advice: Chuck 'em away and get a real set. Laughing

I think the larger rear plate looks better - it's also traditional for Rover cars. However mine came from the dealer (Marshalls Peterborough) with a standard sized rear plate fitted into a plastic frame. Can't be bothered to change it. Ex AA Series III LWB Safari - Gone
300TDi Disco (bought new - terrible car) sent back after 18 months
Freelander 1 Estate - leased, given back at end of lease
200TDi Disco (bought from a mate with 100,000 on the clock) - Gone
Disco 2 TD5 - sold and exported to France
FR2 TD4 GS - Gone
FR2 SD4 HSE - Now changed for a DS
New model ex-demo Evoque S 180 in white
Unable to order a new DS, so gave up. Now have a Volvo S90 Recharge.

Only illegal if you get caught Whistle You will never get stopped for a plate which fails to show the suppliers name and BS number as long as you have the correct Charles Wright font with correct size, spacing and no dodgy ghosted/ honeycomb backgrounds (honeycomb was LEGAL before) MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Not quite true,
Got a potential £1000 fine advisory for just that on the M60 couple of years back by Plod- still have the pink slip..
Didn't like the spacing on the private plate on my wife's Freelander and also picked up on the lack of supplier info.
Said if I was stopped again I would be in the national database and it would flag up therefore triggering summons, fine etc.
Complacency is no excuse. couldn't be arsed with another private plate and instead will change my name by deed poll to Mr FCL 601Y, no issue there then!!!! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Hit it he said, Hit it!--So I hit it, then he hit me---Doh!

"Didn't like the spacing" I made it clear that as long as the plate is legal with no dodgy spacing etc you will be fine Laughing if you have dodgy spacing/font then yes they will pick you up for everything! MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

I wasn't aware that NOT having the supplying dealer information on the plate was illegal ???

what happens if it still has Duckworths Land Rover on the plate but is on its 4th owner and was bought from Joe Bloggs Car Sales ??

Ive never seen a plate that said Halfords on it.......... or Hellfrauds for that matter Laughing

As far as I was aware, so long as the background was plain and didn't reflect camera flash etc, the lettering was the correct font and size and spacing, and it displayed the BS AU145A then it was legal

It doesn't matter how many hands the car has changed. As long as it has the correct suppliers name and postcode who made made the plate that's on the vehicle along with the BS number then it's deemed as 100% legal. As stated though as long as your font is legal size with the correct spacing etc you will be fine without both Thumbs Up MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior
