Does anyone have regular car sized number plates fitted to their FL2 ? I've stupidly just ordered them not realising the plates are larger than regular. Are they gonna look stupid ? Don't particularly wanna fork out for another set ! |

It's only the rear that is larger. |

The car looks much better with the larger rear plate if you have a full length reg number.

I have a personalised plate, but the car came with a bog standard registration on a bog standard rear plate.

Funnily enough just seen a Range Rover with a Regular sized private rear plate, it looked fine. Had I not known it was meant to be bigger I never would of known the difference. |

That's not oversized. That's standard size for a FL2 rear plate. Look at the pictures of any car for sale on the used approved Landrover site. 'Normal' rear plates would be described as undersized!

Cheers for the input fellas. Gonna try them when they arrive , if they look crap I'll order the proper size and keeps the smaller ones as spares. |

When you remove you plate you will see the rear recessed threaded plastic inserts.
Remove these and then fix the plate on with number plate pads. However attach the plate in the middle of the recess and it will look very good! I've seen a few with the plates simply lined up with the top recess and it looks really bad as all you see is the bottom recess. Cheers LR NUT. Are the fixing holes centre of the recess ? I.e could I just drill holes smack bang in the centre of the new plate so that it lines up perfectly in the middle of the recess. Not a fan of those sticky pads , last time I used them the plate came flying off on a dual carriageway ! |

Use decent double sided tape and they will never fall off! |

I cannot recall from memory. I'm 99% sure the centre point of the threaded recess is in the middle. Looking at my picture prior to the car being registered it appears yes it will be the centre point. |
