Hi, I have just bought a Freelander 2 and wondered in normal drive mode is it fwd or rwd ?

As Archie said, it is all 4 wheels, all the time. You cannot change that. Unless you bought the eD4 model which is front wheel drive only (not confused with the TD4e model). FL2 TD4 GS 60 reg Facelift - so many issues

Oh ok, its a petrol SE. Just someone told me it was 2 wheel drive on normal drive. Cool |

As others have said it's all 4 but it is an intelligent four wheel drive system and varies the distribution of drive between front and rear depending on what the vehicle senses is the optimum at that moment. |

technically only 2wd until a wheel slip occurs so its 2wd when you only need that , 4wd when you need more. well 95% front 5% rear varying to 50:50.

If I remember correctly, in normal driving, the majority is to the front wheels with only a small percentage to the back but, as others have said, the Terrain Response System will vary that as required.
