I don't think there are too many 2.8 tonne Freelanders around, even if they are tricked up with every extra they couldn't reach the base D3's unladen weight. F2 also has considerably less frontal area so the drag is less How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet? As mentioned by NP I'm the forum anorak !! I have 42,000 miles of records to refer to. I have been surprised how accurate the computer appears to be. My experience is that its good for 0.2 - 0.3 mpg against full to full calculations. Probably the only rider I should add is that comparisons have always been over at least 300 miles or more. Stornoway Grey GS ... What a fine motor ... but not any more ... ... psst look at my gallery! Company cars ... a thing of the past - May 2013. |

I am seeing a bit more difference between fill-to-fill and trip computer. Just over 5400 miles done and 10 tank fills have given me an overall average of 40.2 (all miles divided by all fuel used) and the average of the 10 trip computer readings is 41.9.
