I don't understand how air con can have an eco position? The compressor is either on or off not halfway. During use the compressor will cut in and out thermostatically depending on the temp of the air con matrix. The compressor can only work at one setting

The car was a (2004) Mazda 6 Estate. I understand your logic and agree with it. But my experience was that I could achieve temperatures that were lower than ambient using economy mode which indicated that the a/c was providing a cooling effect. I think the lowest temp you could dial up was 14c, and it would certainly blow 'very cold' (not a scientific measurment I know) on a days when the ambiemt was 23-24c. If I selected full a/c the blower would run faster ??? |

all knowledge is good but does the fl2 have this newer type compressor? but why bother inventing variable displacement compressors when all you are doing is topping up the chiller matrix? not arguing with you as you seem to know the answers, just wanting to know the reasons At work At home "I can't always believe facts I read on the web" - Charles Dickens winner by default of the tractor vs caravan race |

Has anyone manually calculated their mpg to cross check the trip computer? I've often found on many cars the accuracy to be only marginal at best.
