Is it the DPF that sucks 10bhp from the TD4?

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Stornoway Grey

The dealers (both Hunters Derby and Sturgess Leicester) informed me that stop/start TD4e engines have a DPF fitted to meet the lower emission standards and lower tax band. Apologies if that information is incorrect. I looked at two 2010 td4e pre-facelift manuals though and they both definitely had DPF's fitted. One of them was an ex-demonstrator and they had already had problems with it due to it only doing short local runs all it's life.
