I've only ever removed the seat base, make sure ignition is off, remove wiring plugs to the seat, although not nessasery to remove the seat from the vehicle it makes life easier to remove the floor fixing bolts, then you can access the two 10mm fixing bolts at the front off the seat, covers are real easy to come off. If your replacing the cushion, fix some nylon cloth (old shirt) using contact adhesive to the foam underneath the outside bolster, these tent to split which causes the sag.

There are two 10mm bolts at the front, remove these and the complete seat squab comes away, this is on a metal tray, upholstery is clipped with a plastic channel, when you pull the upholstery back you will have to cut the fixing rings, on assembly use some heavy duty cable ties. You will notice the foam squab on the outside bolster between the tray will have started to split, repair as I have mentioned, glue with contact adhesive them glue a sheet of fabric in the reses, you'll see this when you take it apart, had to do this on loads of seats, I would have thought that they would have reinforced this part. |

That wheel will just pull off although it is tight and so will the tubes the headrest go in. I have replaced the seat back sponge on mine, I left the base of the seat in the car and just removed the seat back which is held on by a couple of bolts.Be very careful when removing the cover as there are a lot of sharp edges to the steel seat frame. |

When I had this done on the Freelander1 I had to have the dash warning light done at the main dealers, have you had any problems with dash lights after fitting the seat back? Offset your Carbon emissions by boycotting Baked Beans and all Green Vegitables. |

I'm going to get my SE seats [Part Leather] recovered in the centre panels and need to be able to get the covers off - the side wheel did in fact just pull off (with some effort) but... Are you sure the headrest housings just pull out? I don't want to break anything but really need them off to get the seat covers off??? |
