Can anyone who has sold their FL2 privately recently offer me a little price advice? I am looking at moving up the property ladder and have found a house we both like but it is stretching us financially in the short term to buy it. It needs money spending on it and, as much as I love the freelander, it may have to go to pay for the kitchen!

Rather than relying on CAP etc, dealers also use Autotrader to compare the actual retail prices, knowing too well that a potential customer is going to walk straight out of the showroom and have a quick look to see what's on offer. You could apply the same logic but be aware that your very low mileage may be undervalued by a shrewd trade buyer. A private buyer might be more impressed. That price sounds a tad low if the car is clean. I can check it on Monday and update you. |

Glass's quote £9.6 - £11 on average mileage as a private sale so £10K is a bit light with the below average mileage, but you'll probably sell it quicker. Depends how quickly you need the cash. |

I paid just under £14k for my 2010 XS TD4.e with average miles in November

Many thanks for your advice. I have mixed feelings about possibly selling the FL2, particularly as it wasn't planned. The house in question is a friend of a friend so not on the market yet. Price negotiations should be interesting! |
