My 56 plate FL2 has started to make a loud knocking noise if you let the clutch up to fast when setting off.

Unless its slack in the drive drain like maybe a worn universal joint? |

I got a couple of independents to look at this and both thought it was the clutch. The estimate for parts and labour galvanised me into action. I traded the car in for a 64 plate 10k miles model! And its clutch is a whole world smoother. Thanks for the input. |

Just for the record we have had two FL2s that have exhibited a similar sort of knocking noise on pulling away and in both cases it was down to the air cleaner assembly rattling as some of the rubber grommets supporting it had come adrift. We found this by pulling away with the bonnet open and someone walking alongside. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

It might be from the engine to chassis tie/stabilser bar, rubbers worn causing the engine to kick forwards or backwards as you take up drive quickly? |
