thanks I traced the fault to the switch panel wiring loom the wire seams to have rubbed on a metal bracket so repaired the damage and insulated with heat shrink.

Youd have thought it would have blown the fuse wouldnt you? |

I agree the fuse should have blown but it didn't until I was testing the wires with my testing probe to trace the fault. The modern can bus electrics seam to be unpredictable as I have mates with Peugeots that have had battery lights on and no battery charging due to a blown rear wiper motor fuse. |
