Squeaky wipers and auto wipe

With all this rain - especially on the drive up to hereford this morning, my wipers have developed a really annoying squeak (blade on glass, not the mechanism). Was wondering if it was the products I'm using to clean the screen - Rain X foam cleaner? It was driving me nut's Big Cry ... i want to get back to the silent wipe i had when the car was new... any suggestions? - i would replace the blades, but they seem in pretty good nick, and are only 9 months old anyhow... Question

Also, i found that changing the sensitivity for auto wipe had hardly any effect to the speed of the wipe - even in low or virtually no rain... am i missing something here? Can i get the wipers into a permanent intermitted wipe regardless of rain level?

It could be something to do with the RainX cleaner? Is there any RainX solution in the cleaner? I applied RainX to my windscreen when my FL2 was new following the instructions on the bottle. The first day of constant rain caused my blades to squeak and judder across the screen. It took me over ten applications of glass polish to remove the RainX. I will never use RainX again on my windscreen. Very Happy

Erm..aren't wipers designed to clear your screen?
Why would you need a secondary screen clearer?

I had some auto gleam glass polish, add a bit of elbow grease and i now have a squeak free wipe Thumbs Up - alhough i'm going to try another glass cleaning product as i can still feel a traffic like film on the glass outside of the wipers sweep which the Auto gleam glass cleaner didn't touch, despite multiple applications.. 2008 SE, HSE wheels, Black Premium Leather, Privacy Glass, Sports Kit, Side Steps, various LED upgrades and Clear side indicators.

Great tip on the glass Whistle

Meguiers Detailing clay, used it on all my windows and sunroof

Removed any water spot and left the windows silky smooth for the AG glass polish now water beads off my windows ( I didn't polish the front screen though)
