Blackfire Crystal Seal-the ultimate lazy owners car sealant?

http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/bl...cat12.html

I have been using this for a few months now and it really is as good as the marketing material suggests. Application couldn't be easier-mist onto the panel and spread with a micro-fibre cloth-thats it!!! No buffing, no smears to contend with. I found pre-wetting the microfibre cloth with sealant gave the best results. The depth of shine is very impressive and it beads water as well as anything I have used.

I have also noticed the FL2 stay cleaner for longer and, when it's time for a clean, it is much easier to remove insects and dirt. If you have metallic paint it really intensifies the metallic flakes. Well worth the money Thumbs Up

That seems to be impressive stuff, I have always used Werkstsat Jett, sadly no longer available, however, the company merged with Carlack and this product carlack longlife is the 'new' Jett. Apparently you can mix this 50:50 with water and spray on as you would with Jett, it goes a long way and represents, not bad, value at that price.
As you rightly say, washing becomes much easier, especially wheels, spend a little time on them and brake dust swills off with little effort.
Thanks for sharing you experience Thumbs Up

On your advice I also converted to Werkstatt Acrylic Jett but ran out before christmas. I considered the Carlack products but then came across a review for the Blackfire and decided to give it a go. Glad I did as the finish is on par with the Werkstatt but slightly quicker to apply and definitely more reflective. Stornoway grey is a funny colour and not all waxes/sealants give it the sheen you can achieve with either the Werkstatt or Blackfire.

a minor amount of buffing required but we always used Autoglym in the trade. It's comparatively cheap - about £13 for 750 ml. Looking at the picture, I think it might be better too - beading is more pronounced.
This could be helpful to some:

2011 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Galway Green

Nice! Will add to my 'to try' list Smile

I put some autosmart topaz on mine about 6 weeks ago (thread: http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic23100.html ), and despite not washing it since (eek), it still looks great. After it rains, it *almost* looks like it's been washed.

Some amazing products available these days Thumbs Up FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

Just tried some of this and mine seems a bit smeary, perhaps its not fully dry yet, or maybe it doesn't like going on top of the Topaz i also used several weeks ago

It goes off within 15 minutes so it sounds like either an application problem or, as you suggest, your previous product preventing it from bonding. When I did my initial search before buying I came across one or two negative posts who experienced a similar problem to yourself. The vast majority were positive though. This link may help;

Well, today has been detailing day, so thought that I'd give it a whirl. Regeime went as follows:

1) AG Body Conditioning Shampoo
2) Meguirs Clay bar + AG Rapid Detail
3) Mer Gloss Body Shampoo
4) AG HD Paint Cleanser (bloody hard work)
5) AG SRP
6) Blackfire Crystal Sealant.

Normally at point 6) I would use AG HD Wax to seal it all in, but swerved it on this occasion. The Blackfire went on easily, and the entire car was done in under 15 minutes, as opposed the 4 hours the paint preparation initially took. I'd just finished and the sun came out, so here's how it looks:

Not a bad result so far...time will tell. I don't feel initially that it gives as deep a gloss finish as the AG HD Wax, but maybe it suits certain colours better than others. It's obvious plus point is the ease and speed of application, as it usually takes a couple of hours with the AG Product alone to apply and allow to cure!
