Torx or Torx plus?

I need to get some Torx tools.
My Freelander 2a is a very early i6, built summer 2006.
According to Wikipedia, patent for original Torx expired in 1990 and so Torx Plus began to be introduced.
Apparently the lobes are more square on Torx Plus.
What I'd like to know is:
On my car (summer '06) are the fixings Torx, or are they Torx Plus? The quick brown fox

I didn't know there were different flavours of Torx. I just bought some Torx sockets and things. They have E numbers like E16 on the sockets and T numbers on the male bits. But no + signs anywhere. What does that tell you? 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

I didn't know there were differences myself, until recently.
I just wanted to get some Torx tools, I don't have any.
I looked on www.toolconnection.com and input 'torx' to the search box.
That brings up alternatives, you can order Torx or Torx Plus.
So I Googled 'wiki torx plus' and discovered they are slightly different versions.
I suspect when forum users here say they've used a Torx tool, they probably mean a Torx Plus.
But before I get the tools ...
I'd like to check that Torx Plus is what'll be on my 2006 Freelander 2.
Can anyone confirm, please? The quick brown fox

just had a look on wikipedia and saw the following;

Torx+ will not fit Torx, but Torx will fit Torx+.

I would suggest as you are not in a factory using hundreds of these fasteners, Torx should do just fine.

According to Wikipedia the only difference is the Torx would be a bit of a slacker fit in Torx+ allowing less torque before slipping out, I would not expect any of the screws in your FL2 to be at maximum torque so you should be fine.  MY2014 SD4 XS

I have three sets...two that are part of my 3/8" and my 1/4" socket sets and one standalone set. When I bought these sets I wasn't aware of torx vs torx+ so that was something I didn't have to worry about Very Happy

Having now looked at the bit profiles of each set, they are all torx and even better, they have all done what they need to with both freelanders to the extent that I have never given a thought to the possibility of having the wrong bits.

A cheap set of either flavour can be had for next to nothing so you could buy one or the other, try it out and then buy a decent set to suit.

Thanks all.
Since it seems Torx (ie, not Torx Plus) will work OK, that'll do. The quick brown fox
