Heater and air con

good evening to you all 👍
I've noticed my heating and air con is no longer up to scratch
I normally leave climate control at 20
But over the last few months I've noticed when it's cold out side I need to turn up to 24 or more to get any heat thou
Also on hot days I have to turn it down 18 or less
Plus for heat or cool air I need to turn the fan up a lot
If I leave it on auto it's crap
Could it be a internal temp sender ??
Any advice would be great 2008 xs

It's probably clogged up with mud. You'll need a raised intake for the heater too. Whistle

First thing to check is the cabin pollen filter - if this hasn't been changed recently it could be restricting the airflow.

Try this if you haven't already.
Remove the trim at the front of the centre console on the drivers side. It's held on by a single screw which is located at the front of this panel. The trim can now be removed by pulling with a bit of force as it's held on with clips. Don't worry, I've not broken any clips yet and this trim has been removed lots of times.
With the trim removed, look the area at the rear of where the trim was. You will see a rubber pipe which you can squeeze easily with thumb and forefinger using little effort. Squeeze this pipe several times then get out of the car to see if water is coming out underneath the car. If water does pour out, it's probably cured the problem.
10 min job that's all, so worth a go. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I get Walter under car from the air con
So should not be a blocked pipe , I hope
Having probs thinking how to raise that one was thinking off making a blanking plate of some salt
Pollen filter checked when I flooded my air box
But it did seem to be after that that I noticed a performance prop in the climet control

Thank you for the advice 2008 xs
