Had reason to go back to LANDROVER dealer 3 days after taken delivery of current car as needed to tow a specialised bit of kit(before you start CG not a caravan) so needed a spare rear plate for lighting board, only to be told by service that they needed v5 before they could make the plate.!!

Not being able to get a plate that matches the ones already on a vehivle that you have with you at the place of manufacture does seem about the most stupid new law of the century. But it does mean you can drive about with a plate missing and just tell plod that you can't get a new one as the V5 is at you aunty's house in Auchterarder and she is away on a world cruise! Everyone can spread it - Anyone can catch it. Stay home - the life you save can be your own! |

Haven't checked - it's one of those strange local services that only seems to run every alternate market day when there's no r in the month. A by-product of living here is that everyone and his grandmother has localised ELY plates. The funeral service round the corner has A1, 2 and 3 ELY, and a bungalow round the corner has three similar.
