2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Stornoway Grey

Mini 1000 (black, loved it, but it was falling apart, and rusty, I know, a rusty mini, imagine that Laughing )

Peugeut 205 Diesel (maroon, ummmm, nice colour)

Peugeut 309 (white, with white hub caps, 120,000 miles, and never serviced for the last 40,000, still ran well)

Renault Megane (not bad, but couldn't wait to get away from french cars, 7 years driving french cars, anything but a french car next)

Ford Focus 2L Ghia (lovely car, but got bored after a year)

MGF Trophy 160 in anthracite (lovely car only about 600 made, quicker, lower and bigger brakes than standard F, was getting very expensive, especially when head gasket went, as all K series engines do)

Mazda 6 Sport (I think they wrote sport on the back for fun, what's sporty about a large diesel family hatch)

LAND ROVER FREELANDER 2 XS (best car ever, love it, love it, love it never want to buy anything else, and still love to drive it 1 year on Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up )
[/b]

Corolla XL 4wd wagon - great little wagon... only imported Corolla into Oz at the time - perfect for towing my tinny and slippery boat ramps Smile
E28 BMW 535i Exec - really nice car but way over the top for me at the time and only kept 9mths.
Suzuki Vitara Limited Ed. Sport - short wheel base and soft top - was great fun but needed A/C really bad!
VW Golf CL (Mk3) - faultless little car in Storm Grey, felt like I was in Europe when still in Oz! Some nice rims on it set it off Smile
Asia Rocsta - yep, don't laugh! Confused was a short termer before the FL came out. Great 2.2 diesel and soft top fun - couldn't break it! Shame about the ride on road.
Freelander Xedi - My 1st LR and so far the best... All that talk about reliability and this thing gave me no problems in the 2yrs I owned it. Great off road for its time!
BMW Z3 2.0 - my mid-life crisis at 27! *L* actually, was working for BMW so picked it up for a song and was a load of fun - still miss it a little (but not the handling!).
Freelander V6 SE 3dr - Back to the LR, didn't really want the V6 but was only choice with the 3dr! Went off-road many times and never let me down Smile
Freelander Td4 SE 3dr - finally the Td4 in the 3dr so traded up, but this car was a lemon Sad many problems both from the Factory and after. Still fun to drive and great economy. Hated the Auto box (only choice here).
BMW 130i Msport - The FL2 was not released when my Td4 warranty ran out, so taking a break from the brand for a while. Oh, what a hoot to drive!!! But will not be in it much longer... (FL2 knocking on the door). ______________________________

Just pop a photocopy in when you send back the form.
I got snapped driving the FL in Hull. 50 in a 40, 100 yds before it changes to 70 on a corner the fl would cruise round at 80 so why the hell its a 40 I have no idea - but anyway -
They send the Mrs a form asking who is driving. I fill it in and send it back, they return it saying they can't accept it. They then send me another form asking if I was the driver. I send it back saying "Yes" but am not allowed to send my docs with it. I then get a notice of intended prosecution asking for my docs. All this took 3 months and cost a fortune in postage and admin.
Given that in 99% of cases the owner either was the driver or is sitting next to them at breakfast, why the hell they don't just have a "Who was the driver" and an "I was the driver" form in the envelope I have no idea. 07 Freelander 2 TD4SE Tambora Flame, side steps, privacy glass, mud flaps, boot liner and a tow bar. Ok it's the Wifes but she lets me drive it occasionally - if I've been good!

Gone - 2010MY FFRR TDv8 Stornoway and Ivory, Privacy - the pace of a TDv8 RRS, the incomparable grace of a Range Rover
Gone but will be missed- RRS Tdv8 HSE Stornoway Grey with Ebony Leather
Gone (only a little missed) RRS Tdv6 2.7SE Giverny Green/Aspen
Defender 90 County HT in Epsom Green
