Seems to be a common issue with 2011 cars when temp gets above 15 degrees, mine is doing same last couple of weeks. Been some chat about it before, I believe someone reported that LR have a car on test to id the issue but no fix yet as far as I know. 2014 SE Loire Blue SD4 Auto (MY15)

Sounds like the dreaded MY11 facelift hesitation problems which LR don't know how to fix. My 11 reg is manual and had it. Went back to the dealers several times they upgraded the software, "re calibrated the airflow system" and then changed the fuel filter. Never any fault codes. Seems OK now but used to be air temperature dependent so only became apparent in the summer.

Thanks gents. Sort of reassuring that it isn't only my FL but is it too late to get anything done about it?

I love todays vehicle technicians as they now call them, the computer says there nothing wrong so everything must be perfect and you must be imagining things.

I have said this elsewhere but the diagnostics on the FL2 (and probably a lot of other cars) are inadequate. I was told by a dealer that a lot of the fault codes are automatically deleted if the fault clears even if you have had a fault message up on the dashboard. This is ridiculous and probably dates from when memory chips had low capacity and were expensive but with modern technology you could easily keep a complete running log of every event in a car's lifetime. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

A man after my own heart. I did 15 years in various guises as a mechanic. Our diagnostics involved 'thinking about the problem'! Whether it was a circuit racer or an Austin 1100, the basic process is the same. look at the problem in terms of what is happening and what controls the events that could lead to the problem. Before I found this thread I have been thinking about the problem. It seems to be to do with temperature!!! My observations are that it only happens on light throttle (in my case). It is ambient temp dependant. (Engine temp doesn't affect the problem). It seems that it isn't only an automatic transmission problem (or is it)? It doesn't appear to be auto trans fluid (LR changed mine) Is it fuel? (pumps, injectors, filters, fuel lines, turbo) Is it electrical? (No HT so it can't be that). Is it transmission? Are the auto trans different on later cars. Is it running gear? (wheel speed sensors etc.). Is it the headlining? (joke). What is different on later car specs that prevents this problem? Is it a 'sensor' that measures air temp causing some change? Is it a fluid that react to the temp. Come on guys, lets put our heads together |

That's the same problem Dorset. Incidentally I'm also in Dorset but I don't think that is the problem here! |

First of all mine is manual so it's not confined to autos. But remember that there is another big unknown in modern cars ie the software in the ECU which takes readings from various sensors and controls the injectors via a multidimensional engine map. My guess is that there is a set of circumstances depending upon load, temperature etc etc which result in the wrong signals sent momentarily to the injectors/EGR /Throtte body whatever. Having experience of writing computer code it can sometimes be a nightmare to find what causes a certain rogue outcome. I am also resigned to the fact that JLR has now moved on (Ingenium engine?) and that no resources will be made available to sort this out. 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto

EYorkshire has successfully had his problem resolved. He had originally posted in that thread some details about what LR did and how it relates to the LR bulletin for dealers to follow but has since removed them, perhaps under advice.

I have booked mine in because it is now very annoying. The service guy said that it would cost me £95 for the first hour and would probably only result in sending info to LR. |

Contact Ryan@LandRover on this forum, he may be able to work with your dealer to get a resolution. |
