Seeing as you had problems initially with your rear wiper it might all be due to water having got in the back wiper and causing a short circuit?
I have a MINI too and moisture in one item or low voltage can play havoc with the whole car electrics causing lights and controls to assume a life of their own.

Also with the rear wiper the wiring to it gets to the rear tailgate via a rubber conduit near the hinge and of course with opening and closing the hatch wiring at that point can fatigue and break and thus might earth?

I would say seeing as the first thing you had trouble with before all the other things happened seemed to be around the rear wiper going crazy?? It might be worth having a route around that area??

Have you pulled the rear wiper fuse and tried it without that in at all?? I know you said you checked it but did you try the car without the fuse in say?

Just out of interest was the AA guy a Landrover Assist specialist or just a general AA type? I know that LR assist work for the AA now and are supposed to be sent out to JLR problems and they have the proper JLR diagnostic gear.

Standard Patrolman, so I suspect he just had his standard diagnostic stuff, he did phone a JagLR specialist but to be fair you need the bloke on the ground with the diagnostics 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Which fuses did you pulled in the first place? The ones under glovebox?
Those fuses are mounted directly on the Central Junction Box (CJB).
Seems to me a problem with the CJB. All things that are not working (or working chaotically) are commanded by the CJB.
Did you checked the connectors all around the CJB? There are a few (4-5) with many terminals. Check their proper insertion. Eventually disconnect them and connect them again.
Also, if you have a JLR approved and compatible diagnostic tester, check communication with CJB and read the CJB's error codes.

thing is now Alex every fuse under the glove box and every fuse and relay in the Engine compartment has been pulled swapped and replaced by me and AA trying to get the thing going , I can go through the whole lot again but I'm thinking its a job for a pro , can the correct diagnostic tool tell the operator what is wrong Easily, or is it a long process ? 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

I've said connectors, not fuses.
The diagnostic could tell you if the communication with CJB is OK, so the firmware inside is still operational and sometimes, based on error codes, it can tell you if other things are to blame.
The CJB is composed inside of 2 boards, inserted one into another like a sandwich. On one of them are the internal CJB relays and the fuses. It's possible that you've disturbed some connectors and/or contacts.

I am keep insisting on the CJB because the messages received on the CAN bus from CJB are keeping the instrument panel active, if I've understood correctly...
Also the CJB is the main repository for the Car Configuration File.
By a strange conjuncture, it may be possible that the internal flash memory or configuration eeprom to went haywire.
If I were you, if all connectors check OK, and diagnostically all OK, I would try a CJB firmware update/refresh. Also I would load again the default car configuration file. But anyhow, it's a long way till there and these are dealer jobs.

My friends 09 fl2 is with guy salmon for a similar fault. He was getting all fault messages flashing up and the rear wiper was on by itself, when he tried to turn car off it wouldn't, he had to leave it running for 3 hrs. AA came out (Land Rover assist guy), he traced it to a loose connection on an ecu (don't know which one) but the car has gone to be reprogrammed at dealer. I will try to find out what exactly was the problem and let you know.

Friends fl2 had to have new ecu at 1k. Likly cause from changing pollen filter and damaging a connection nearby. Friends fault happened just after the service.

Booked my car into garage last week, was talking to garage owners about ECU's. He was saying that he sends them away to be checked out and repaired. Miles cheaper than getting a new one. Always good to know if ever you need an ECU repair. Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
