And forgot to mention they have dented the rear quarter panel by the boot. Hurrah, cars goes in to be fixed, and comes out worse off.

'Why do Land Rover mock me so'.

This was being dealt with through customer relations as well. Wtf.

LR have never been the best for panel gaps but over the years it has improved vastly. I'm possibly only keeping my car for another two years and the corrosion warranty on LR is 6 years so I will leave it as is. Sometimes you can make things worse Censored about with it. MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

ive noticed the problem with the paint being rubbed off too, but there is a fairly simple solution, if you can be bothered I suppose, and thats to remove the item and fit a thin neoprene gasket behind cut out to profile from some thin sheet, then fit that between the trim and body, wonder really why LR didnt do it anyway??

They did actually! If I pull my trim away from the body you can see a thin black spacer that appears to be adheared to the trim itself which holds the trim off body about 2mm. This thin membrane appears to be 5mm smaller than the trim piece at the edges.

So, mine went in for warranty repair at the end of May. Looked great when I picked it up on the Friday evening and, as I was going on holiday the next day, it spent the next week sat on the drive in direct sunlight. Looked at it again this morning after return from holiday and...

The edges of the handle are tight against the paint so I guess half a dozen heating/cooling cycles was enough to scrape off the new paint. Back to the dealer tomorrow Big Cry 2012 SD4 XS Santorini Black

My FL2 is kept in nowhere near as shiny condition as all the ones posted in here but I've noticed very obvious swirl marks from water/dust around the area on the boot handle. Feels like a combination of heat cycles plus aerodynamics blowing crud in there could be to blame.

I rarely wash mine and so far it looks ok...for now. I'll try and get a pic of the marks later.

Thats exactly what happened with both my fl2's, (albeit 6 or 7 times).
I have recently had a response from land rover technical after this issue was raised through customer relations. This is the exact response from Land rover technical:

"our Technical Team have advised that they are unaware of any issues with the paintwork on the tailgate. Therefore, at this moment in time there are no plans to apply a permanent fix to the tailgate area as it is not deemed as an issue".

Here's the pics I mentioned earlier. It's clear that dirt sits where the paint issues develop, not going to help if the area is stressed with heat expansion.

Found I had the same problem this morning.

Phoned Oggs in Elgin to be told the Service Manager is off but they weren't aware of any issues. They tried to get me to take it to Aberdeen to which I told them where to go and agreed to email photos to the Service Manager could look at them on his return before I am able to get over to them.

I'll update post once heard from them but will be pushing for the problem to be resolved foc.

Tailgate paint flaking

Morning Ryan, hope you can help me.

Paint on areas either side of my Freelanders tailgate handle is flaking. I've contacted Frank Ogg in Elgin and spoken to Sasha who wasn't aware of any problems. I've emailed her photos which I've attached but would appreciate any help you could give to help resolve the issue.

Thanks in advance
