Similar scenario when I replaced my fence posts when we moved in to our current house, they defo use a JCB to dig holes - I watched them doing it on a near by development.

A ryobi battery strimmer would make short work of that (battery not included)

4 hours later 2 foot of concrete post completely surrounded by concrete has been dug out by hand and a large chisel

Bit late I know but u should have bought concrete disolver, pour it on, make tea, watch it melt. Never used it but have been informed it's good if your lazy.

Do not have that problem here know the blaster at the local quarry("Barry the Bang" ) slip him a tenner and it goes in the direction of the person you dislike the most..accurate to within 2 feet ..!!! ) Wales
