any idea why the rear side window de-misters on my freelander 2 don't work ?

Aerials in Glass.
Ford Escort from about 1987 used heated rear screen as aerial. All FL2's (3) Gone
2011 Mercedes C180 CGI Gone
FL2 GS Auto SD with heated leather, factory tints, alloy spare and a few other bits.

that's for the sat nav and GPS I think

easy mistake to make, they do look like heating elements Laughing

They are not IN glass.
They are applied OVER the surface of the glass, just like the heated rear screen elements.
Feel them with your finger and you'll see.
