Having just takien delivery of my nearly new Metropolis, it appears there is no service booklet with it. I know you can access service record online - does this mean they have done away with the paper copy which normally gets stamped?

If you want a booklet you can register on TOPIx and print off a "replacement" copy. Good idea if you are having it serviced by a non-LR dealer. If serviced by a dealer it gets recorded on the LR computer (but they will also stamp the "replacement" if you ask nicely).

Your lucky! Mine came without the adaptor the the locking wheel nuts....they are still trying to find it. You would think Land Rover dealers would have better quality control than this. I went to so much trouble ensuring my trade-in SD4 GS had everything in place for the next owner.

That rings a bell - years ago I handed back my Freel1 at the end of its lease. I gave them all the paperwork, receipts, logbook, etc. In those days you didn't have to tell DVLA yourself, and the dealer said they would take care of everything.
They were at first confused about what to do - apparently no-one had ever gone in, given them the keys and said OK, it's yours - at least that's what they said - and they handed the car back to BMW leasing. Who lost all the paperwork, parked it in a field for a couple of years, still registered in my name, then sold it on with what, by then, was a low mileage. I know about it because the indy who bought it couldn't sell it on until I had contacted DVLA to get a duplicate logbook so that we could transfer ownership.

The Mystery is solved...it was found where I expected it would be
They were going to sell me a car without a Spare wheel which I said was no use to me so they agreed to put new one in for me which was transferred from another HSE Lux model which had just been traded in. So they had exchanged the Repair kit for the Spare wheel and in the Repair Kit.....was the key.
I am just glad I didn't get stuck somewhere with a puncture!
