FREELANDER HEADLIGHT ADJUSTMENT

Hi there many thanks
I assume adjusting "A" and "B" clockwise will lower the beam
and anti clockwise will raise the beam?

Hi all. Have a freelander 2 that is giving me few headaches with loss of power so thought I'd join the forum and try to figure out what might be causing the problem. It's a 140 kW 2.2 diesel with auto box. Is this a common problem?

Steve

Hello, I have joined this forum as I am in the throes of buying a Freelander2 (always wanted on) . However I have heard recently some stories about poor reliability like rear diff failures, wheel bearings etc so trying to bone up on the inside story. So tell me guys, are these a heap of trouble? What's the best vintage?

Briefly,
They are fairly reliable compared to other LR, due in part to their simpler nature.
They are not as reliable as many other car manufacturers.
Repairs are normally costly.
They are now somewhat of a dated design, which is why its been replaced.
They are very comfortable.
Other marques are more refined.
They are the best in class off road
They tow well.
The most notable problems as you mentioned are rear diffs, throttle bodies, wheel bearings, earthing faults and a few others - @Dorsetfreelander is our resident expert in all FL2 failures, having experienced most Bow down

On the other hand, the forum is full of useful knowledge, and people who have nothing better to do than reply to posts on a sunday night Mr. Green Rolling with laughter

Oh, and welcome Thumbs Up

Did I hear my name mentioned? My only advice is get a good warranty if you want to sleep at night, my bedtime reading is currently the Haynes Manual - very soporific. Very Happy 3 x FL1 2 manual + 1 auto
5 x FL2 4 manual + 1 auto

From Freelander to Freelander 2

Having had a Freelander for the last seven years I thought it was time to replace it, and so I took delivery of an ex-demo 2014 Freelander 2 XS on Saturday.

It's a big change, and I'm still trying to work out what all the buttons and features are for. Looking forward to taking it off road too, but that might have to wait until the factory sheen has worn off a bit Very Happy
